According to reports, actor Sahil Khan has been accused of endorsing and promoting the Mahadev app, as well as allegedly running it to generate profits.
In October, the Enforcement Directorate summoned celebrities including Hina Khan, Kapil Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Shraddha Kapoor, among others in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. Recent reports suggest that Sahil Khan, known for his role in Style and Xcuse Me, has now been booked by the Mumbai Police in connection with the same case. According to Pinkvilla, actor Sahil Khan is listed at number 26 in the case, accused of endorsing and promoting the Mahadev app, as well as allegedly running it to generate substantial profits.
According to reports in IANS, authorities mentioned that Sahil Khan, known for his roles in films such as Style, Xcuse Me, Alladin, and that as a fitness expert and YouTuber, allegedly put toger celebrity gatherings with the intention of promoting the app and enticing more individuals to use it. The case, under simultaneous investigation by the Enforcement Directorate, has brought several other Bollywood actors under scrutiny following the recent crackdown on various betting and gaming apps by different agencies. That apart, some promoters of the app have been arrested in the past few weeks.
Registered on November 7, the FIR is based on a complaint lodged by social activist Prakash Bankar against the Khiladi app, a subsidiary of the main Mahadev app. Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, along with various associates and partners, are responsible for running and promoting the app, which is now under scanner by agencies.
On the work front, Sahil Khan, it was reported in July, is all set to share screen space once again with Style co-actor Sharman Joshi in a yet-untitled film. Sharman and Sahil first joined hands in 2001 and later in 2003. Their new film is all set to roll and will also mark the launch of a new actress and will reportedly be shot extensively in Abu Dhabi.
