Boney Kapoor produced Rajkumar Santoshi’s Pukar.
Kay Sera Sera song is from the 2000 film Pukar which also featured Anil Kapoor, Namrata Shirodkar and Danny Denzongpa.
Recently, Boney Kapoor graced the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11. The episode marked the legacy of the filmmaker. Boney has produced many hit movies in his illustrative career of around 43 years amongst which is the 2000 action thriller Pukar.
On the show, he revealed that lead actress Madhuri Dixit took nine days to rehearse for the popular track Kay Sera Sera and called her “magnificent”.
The dance floor was on fire with astounding performers by the participants to some chartbusters from Boney Kapoor’s iconic movies from the era of classic melodies that continue to top the playlist today. One of the contestants, Adrija Sinha set a benchmark after she accepted Malaika Arora’s challenge to try something new and attempted Salsa to the song Kay Sera Sera which was choreographed by Akash Thapa. Her captivating performance left the judges and the audience in a state of awe.
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor called her performance “absolutely stunning” and “fabulous”. He grabbed this opportunity to narrate an incident. He said, “I want to share something about this; Madhuri ji and Prabhu danced to this song in the movie. Madhuri took nine days to rehearse this song, and then she performed. She was magnificent, fantastic.”
He proceeded to compliment the contestant and her choreographer and said that they created magic on the stage, which he could have never imagined. He even called it “flawless” and added that not a single beat was wrong and every moment was clean. He believes that being flawless in a song like this is impossible and the choreography was perfect.
Rajkumar Santoshi’s Pukar was released in 2000 and has received multiple awards and accolades. Even the audience appreciated the thrilling script and the exceptional performances of the actors. The movie was headlined by Anil Kapoor, and Madhuri Dixit and saw Namrata Shirodkar, and Danny Denzongpa in leading roles.
Boney Kapoor was last seen on the silver screen in the Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor movie titled Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. He recently produced Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu which was released in January 2023.
