LML unveils three electric two-wheeler concepts; India launch in 2023

LML has taken the wraps off three new electric two-wheeler concepts, the Star e-scooter, the Moonshot pedal-assisted e-bike and the Orion e-bicycle. The company plans to launch these products in the Indian market by the second half of 2023.

New LML electric two-wheelers: Details

While not many details have been revealed about the upcoming LML two-wheelers, there are a few that make these products stand out. 

The LML Moonshot is the company’s pedal-assisted e-bike, and is a rather quirky looking little thing. It gets supermoto-typical styling with a flat bench-style seat and a beak-y front fender. The battery is housed at the front of the belly section, and the motor seems to be integrated at the rear wheel hub. LML claims the Moonshot’s battery is portable, and it gets two power modes (Surge and City) with a top speed of 70kph.

Mechanicals are quite substantial, considering the performance levels on offer, with an upside-down front fork and disc brakes at both ends. Everything is held together by a tubular steel frame, and the Moonshot gets alloy wheels at both ends.

Not a whole lot is known about the LML Star e-scooter, but we do learn some details from the image that LML has shared. What’s obvious is that it will sport  maxi-style design language, but come with a flat floorboard. In terms of mechanicals, we see a mid-mounted motor that sends power to the rear wheel via a belt drive system. On the chassis front, the Star will roll on alloy wheels at both ends, and suspension will comprise a telescopic fork and monoshock. A front disc brake is visible, and though not very clear, there seems to be a disc brake at the rear as well.

The sharp step on the single-piece seat, the tyre hugger-mounted rear number plate and overall sporty styling hint that LML could place some emphasis on performance with this product. The packaging flexibility offered by the scooter format should also allow the Star to feature a larger battery pack than the other two concepts here.

Finally, the Orion is LML’s e-bicycle with an IP67 rated battery pack integrated into its hydroformed alloy frame, supplemented by pedal power. A unique feature here is the in-built GPS for onboard navigation.
