‘Living By Myself As A Teenager In Mumbai Was Tough Call’: Rakul Preet On Her Bollywood Journey –

While it is not easy for someone outside of the entertainment industry to make it big in Bollywood and become a renowned name, Rakul Preet Singh defies the odds and shines bright as one of the most talented actresses in Indian cinema. She has appeared in various films in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Recently, the actress reflected on her journey of making it big in the film industry.

Rakul shared a heartfelt post note with some adorable pictures of herself on Instagram. The series of pictures also had a childhood picture of the actress. The picture of the actress left many in awe of her cuteness. Besides, she also shared some throwback pictures emphasising her evolution as an actress. The post included a picture from the sets of her debut Hindi film Yaariyan, directed by Divya Khosla Kumar.

In the caption, Rakul highlighted that her journey was marked by a rollercoaster of experiences. The actress wrote, “With no knowledge about the industry, I started this journey full of hope from modelling to Miss India to films…a journey like any other in a life filled with ups and downs, acceptance and rejections…moving to Mumbai and living all by myself as a teenager was a tough call.”

The actress also recalled standing in queues for auditions, making multiple calls to casting agents and directors and being replaced many times. However, she also reflected that despite the hurdles, she had unwavering self-belief, confidence and a strong work ethic.

She ended the note by giving a message to everyone and wrote, “Dreams aren’t easy but when you decide to take the road less travelled make it a point to celebrate every small win and keep working towards your larger goal and make it happen! Make it real, make it count and tell yourself that.”

Rakul Preet Singh’s post came after Bhumi Pednekar, in an Instagram post, asked self-made actresses to share their journey dedicated to “how long they all have come”. Sharing the post, she tagged several fellow actresses including Samiksha Pednekar, Rajkummar Rao, Patralekhaa, Rakul Preet, Vaani Kapoor, Anushka Ranjan, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Rhea Chakraborty, Tasheen Hira and Nidhi Parmar Hira.

Bhumi Pednekar is gearing up for her next release Thank You For Coming in which she will be essaying a bold character. The film will also feature Shehnaaz Gill and Kusha Kapila in pivotal roles.
