Saeeda was married to the late Iqbal Khan, the son of ace producer Mehboob Khan of Mother India and Andaz fame.
Legendary late actor Dilip Kumar’s younger sister Saeeda Khan passed away on Sunday, September 24. According to reports, she died after battling a prolonged illness. She was married to the late Iqbal Khan, the son of ace producer Mehboob Khan of Mother India and Andaz fame. Iqbal was the trustee of the famous Mehboob Studios in Bandra. A prayer meeting will be held for Saeeda at the studio on Tuesday, September 26.
As per a report by ETimes, a source close to the family said that Saeeda succumbed to a prolonged illness. The source added that Saeeda was a very compassionate individual. She is survived by her daughter Ilham and her son Saqib, who looked after her after Iqbal’s passing in 2018. While Ilham is a writer, Saqib is a producer.
Saeeda was one of the few links to Dilip Kumar’s life after his passing nearly two years ago. The veteran actor passed away at the age of 98 in Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital on July 7, 2021. Like his sister, he was also battling a prolonged illness. According to The Indian Express, Dilip Kumar or Dilip Sahab as he was fondly called, was suffering from advanced prostate cancer that had spread to his other organs as well.
He is survived by his wife and veteran actress Saira Banu. On the second anniversary of Dilip Kumar’s death, Saira Banu made her Instagram debut with a post dedicated to the legendary actor. She wrote, “Till this day, I feel he is with me, and no matter what, we will still walk the path of life together- hand in hand- one in our thoughts and being until the end of time. Dilip Sahib has been that iconic guiding light for my life and all those generations who have stepped forward in their lives, exemplified by his gracious presence and personality. He has been the greatest actor ever and a great human being, a true picture of humility with dignity.”
Saira is yet to comment on Saeeda Khan’s tragic news.
