KTM 390 Adventure V: details
Addressing the big issue that short riders faced in the standard KTM 390 Adventure’s 855mm seat height, the company has managed to reduce the seat height on the 390 Adventure V to 830mm. That’s a significant drop of 25mm and will make the bike more accessible to short riders.Â
KTM has managed to achieve the lower seat height by fitting new suspension with reduced travel at both ends. The suspension travel is said to be much lower than the 170mm (front)/177mm (rear) travel of the standard bike. Consequently, the ground clearance has also reduced but we are told that it is not by much.
KTM 390 Adventure V: who is it for?
If you are a short rider and have always wanted to buy a KTM 390 Adventure but the 855mm seat height was a dealbreaker, the ‘V’ variant should be more accessible. The compromises with regards to ground clearance will hamper the bikes off-road ability to some extent, versus the standard bike. But, on the whole, the 390 V will be as capable a highway mile muncher as the standard bike.
The best part is that the low-seat-height version of the 390 Adventure is loaded with all the bells and whistles that you get on the standard model unlike the recently launched KTM 390 Adventure X that misses out on a host of features but is priced significantly lower.
