KPIT partners with dSPACE for EV charging solutions

Pune: Ltd. has partnered with dSPACE GmbH to offer a comprehensive solutions test suite for smart charging of electric vehicles.

dSPACE provides simulation and validation solutions for the automotive industry, allowing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their suppliers to test software and hardware components of a new vehicle before launch. The company’s areas of expertise include connected cars, self-driving cars and electric vehicles.

The collaboration brings together the hardware and software competencies of dSPACE and KPIT Technologies to offer comprehensive testing options for the mobility ecosystem, according to a statement released on Thursday.

The focus and expertise dSPACE brings together for validation hardware will be a great fit for KPIT Technologies, said Anup Sable, chief technology officer at the Pune-based firm. “This will complement KPIT’s focus on powertrain software for two decades and experience of working on leading electrification programs,” he said.

Robust validation and testing of EV charging technology is crucial for the rapid expansion of EV charging infrastructure in the country. KPIT has developed an extensive, ready-to-use suite of test libraries that works seamlessly with the dSPACE Smart Charging Solution. The test suites comply with global standards.

“The development of the joint offering has resulted in a solution that ensures a smooth user experience and takes into account all major global norms and standards,” said Markus Ploeger, director of electromobility and electric drives at dSPACE. “This enables comprehensive testing for the increasingly complex charging technologies.”
