In a circular, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) announced the updated fees that citizens will be required to pay in order to generate a new Aadhaar card or update their personal information on an existing Aadhaar card.
A person’s biometrics, address, email, and phone number, among other details, may be the subject of updates. Additionally, when citizens turn 5 and 15 years old, they are required to update their biometric data and other information.
UIDAI is asking people who haven’t updated their Aadhaar information in more than ten years to update their identification and address proof online at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in between March 15 and June 14, 2023. This assistance is for nothing.
The UIDAI typically charges Rs 50 to make changes to a user’s information linked to their 12-digit unique identification number. If the Aadhaar ID was issued more than ten years ago, this may be required if users attempt to update details like Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA).
It should be noted that you can only use the free UIDAI service online at the MyAadhaar portal. Cardholders will still be required to pay the Rs 50 fee in order to update documents at the actual Aadhaar centers. The move aims to “enhance authentication success rate” and “improved ease of living, better service delivery.”
