Now, with the potential return of Kim Nam Gil for Season 2, fans can anticipate another round of hit episodes. According to a report in Soompi, Kim Nam Gil’s agency, Gilstory, has confirmed that the actor has been offered a role in The Fiery Priest 2 and he is currently reviewing the offer with a positive outlook. If things proceed as anticipated, Kim Nam Gil will reprise his role as Kim Hae Il, the main character in the Korean drama. “The actor received an offer to star in ‘The Fiery Priest 2’ and is currently reviewing the offer positively,” the agency said, as quoted by Soompi. To note, Kim Nam Gil received the Daesang (grand prize) for his role at the 2019 SBS Drama Awards.

Although most of the details about the second season are being kept confidential, the report suggests that season 2 is expected to comprise 12 episodes. The script is already completed. Filming is anticipated to commence next year, and if all goes according to plan, the release is slated for the second half of the upcoming year.
