Force Gurkha for Kerala police: what’s different?

Donning an all-black shade, the Gurkha police vehicles come equipped with high-intensity rooftop flashing lights, a siren and an emblem of the state’s police department. The SUVs ride on blacked-out steel rims and also get modified seating arrangement as per the requirements.

Just like the civilian version, this Gurkha is also powered by the 91hp, 250Nm, 2.6-litre Mercedes-sourced diesel engine that’s mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The four-wheel drive system with manual locking differentials should also come in handy to the police department.

Five-door Gurkha in the works

Force Motors is also working on a five-door version of the Gurkha SUV, which will be based on a stretched version of the Gurkha’s C in C ladder-frame platform, and rival the upcoming five-door Mahindra Thar. You can read more about it here.
