7th Pay Commission : The dearness allowance (DA) paid to employees by the Karnataka government has been increased by 4%. Additionally, it increased the DA rate for pensioners from 31% to 35%. The new rate will be powerful from January 1, 2023. At this point, the state government representatives were getting DA at 31%.
Additionally, pensioners in aided educational institutions whose pension or family pension is paid out of the Consolidated Fund of the State will be eligible for an increase to the Basic Pension or Family Pension.
According to a government order, “Government is pleased to increase the rates of Dearness Allowance payable to the State Government Employees in the 2018 Revised Pay Scales from the existing 31% to 35% of Basic Pay with effect from January 1, 2023.”
The government stated that full-time employees of Aided Educational Institutions and Universities who are on regular time scales of pay, employees of Zilla Panchayats, Work Charged Employees on regular time scales of pay, and employees of Zilla Panchayats will be affected by these orders.
It stated that separate orders would be issued for NJPC pensioners and employees on UGC, AICTE, ICAR, and NJPC pay scales. The order stated, “The date of disbursement of salary for the month of May 2023 shall not be earlier than the date of payment of arrears of Dearness Allowance.”
