In a recent interview from UN House, Kareena revealed a potential sequel to Crew and her role in Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty.
Kareena Kapoor Khan kickstarted 2024 with a successful start with Crew, which hit screens in March and performed well. In a recent interview with Variety from UN House, Kareena revealed a potential sequel to the film and her role in the upcoming movie Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty. She said that both her and Deepika Padukone’s characters play important roles in this big Bollywood masala entertainer. Singham Again stands out as one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, boasting a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone.
Calling it a “completely male testosterone movie”, Kareena said, “There’s Deepika (Padukone) and me in the film, where we have very strong parts. But obviously it’ll be really different, it is the big ticket Bollywood bonanza for this year, and I’m sure people will enjoy that.”
In a chat with BBC Asian Network earlier, Kareena had talked about whether she’d share screen space with others. Responding to the question, she said, “I’m sure that’s part of the surprise of the film that you guys have to watch! But yes, it’s a stellar cast. And I think there’s no one better than Rohit Shetty to bring us all together in one frame. Yes, and it’s definitely going to happen.”
Talking about the film, the actress added, “The movie has emotion, action, and on top of that, I have a lovely role that’s a pivotal part of the film. Even if you look at big-ticket Hollywood films like Avengers, there’s always an emotional connection. Singham Again has emotion that comes from my character. So, after doing Crew and especially the audience, seeing me in this movie will be a total 360-degree turn as an actor.”
In Hansal Mehta’s new movie The Buckingham Murders, Kareena plays the main character, a mother and investigator. The story follows her as she investigates the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire after the tragic loss of her own child. The film premiered at MAMI 2023, but its release date hasn’t been announced yet.
