Kannada actor Upendra shared his thoughts on actor Darshan’s arrest in connection with the alleged murder of his fan, Renukaswamy. Upendra mentioned on X that the case is being closely followed nationwide and called for a fair investigation.

A translated version of his post read, “Darshan – Renuka Swamy – Transparent hearing …..

Waiting for impartial decision and justice in this high profile case trial. There is a lot of anxiety, doubts haunting, speculations in Renuka Swamy family, people, TV media and Darshan fans. Police must often share video documents and all details of witnesses regardless of any case and should be legal. (Earlier police were writing and recording investigation details now technology has advanced so much that everything can be video recorded and live streaming) (Legal Reforms #CriminalJusticeReforms). In the same way, if a case is filed against a public person, police should frequently open the video records of the case and all the details of the witnesses. A public person’s hearing should be done publicly with complete transparency, destruction of witness, influencers intervention, corruption, all of them are dragging the curtain. Then Renuka Swamy’s family, people, tv media and Darshan fans will still get respect and justice without any confusion in their minds.”

Meanwhile, the police team probing the Renukaswamy murder case, in which leading Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his actress friend Pavithra Gowda are the key accused, seized a car on Sunday that was allegedly used in kidnapping the victim. And now, the Kamakshipalya police, investigating the kidnap and murder of Renukaswamy, recovered footwear belonging to Pavithra Gowda, from her house in Kenchenahalli, Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Sunday. Darshan, Pavithra, and his associates are among the 17 people arrested for the murder of Renukaswamy, who had allegedly posted obscene content about her.

“As per the confession of the accused persons, Pavithra was the first one to assault Renukaswamy with her footwear before others subjected him to brutality at a seized-vehicle parking yard in Pattanagere, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, where he was held captive on June 8,” a cop said, as per TOI.
