Initially planned as a direct OTT release, Sesham Mikeli Fathima was set to bypass traditional theatres. Reports even indicated that Netflix had secured the digital rights for the film.
The film’s storyline revolves around Kalyani’s character in the Malabar region of Kerala. Kalyani portrays a football commentator hailing from the Malappuram district with a profound love for outdoor sports.
In a previous interview with OTTplay, director Manu emphasized that the film is not entirely female-centric and that football, while an essential element, is just one aspect. Kalyani will be delivering her dialogues in the Malabar dialect, similar to her role in Thallumaala, starring Tovino Thomas.
Manu C Kumar mentioned in a conversation with Kochi Times that Shaheen Siddique’s role is akin to an extended cameo in the film.
Kalyani Priyadarshan, known for her roles in Bro Daddy and Hridayam, expressed her gratitude for her journey in the film industry, acknowledging that she’s in a place she aspired to be. However, she also shared her concerns about making mistakes along the way and hoped for forgiveness when those moments arose.
The film boasts cinematography by Santhana Krishnan, acclaimed for his work in Kabir Singh and features music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, known for his work in Hridayam.
