Kalki 2898 AD is set to release on June 27, 2024.

Days before its release, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD dropped the film’s second trailer.

Days before its release, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD dropped the film’s second trailer, giving a closer look at Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas and Kamal Haasan’s characters. The trailer, over two minutes long, offers more insight into the world of Kalki and its plot. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is set to release worldwide on June 27.

The trailer begins with Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Ashwathama, talking to Deepika Padukone’s character, saying, “They say the whole universe resides within God. But God himself resides in your womb.” After that, more characters, including Deepika, appear in different scenes with short dialogues. The trailer also shows a fight between Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. After several shots of barren land, it cuts to Kamal Haasan, who says, “Despite the endless opportunities spanning over generations, man fails to redeem himself and he never will.”

The trailer of the Nag Ashwin directorial was released last week. A futuristic take on the Mahabharat, the story is set in Kaashi, ruled by Saswata Chatterjee’s character. What follows next after a prophecy reveals that he will be overthrown by a child forms the basic storyline of the film. Interestingly, the child is carried by Deepika Padukone’s character.

While Prabhas plays Bhairava, a top hunter in the most anticipated project, Amitabh Bachchan is winning hearts for his portrayal of Ashwatthama.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas and Kamal Haasan gathered at a star hotel in Mumbai for a grand event celebrating Kalki 2898 AD. During the event, Amitabh purchased the first ticket of the film from the producer and presented it as a gift to Kamal Haasan. He invited Kamal Haasan onto the stage and handed over the ticket. Before calling Kamal Haasan up on stage, Amitabh Bachchan said, “I will give it to my colleague, my dear friend, my brother Kamal Haasan.”
