Junaid Khan says comparisions with dad Aamir Khan do not bother him.
Junaid Khan has said he is very different from his father, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. In a recent interview, Junaid was asked if comparisons with his father burden him. The starkid dismissed the same and shared that he isn’t bothered by such comparisons.
“It hasn’t happened to me so far. Papa and I are physically very different, so we’d never play similar kinds of characters. It doesn’t bother me, and I haven’t experienced it yet,” Junaid told PTI.
Junaid made his acting debut on the big screen earlier this year with the film Maharaj. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film featured Junaid in the role of the real-life 19th-century social reformer Karsandas Mulji. Based on an 1862 libel case involving Mulji and a Vaishnavite religious leader, Maharaj briefly ran into legal trouble with the members of the sect filing a petition in the Gujarat High Court against the film.
Previously, Junaid was also asked whether he discussed his debut project with his father. “Film ke baare mein itna discussion nahi hua Papa se’. It is not his film and he is busy with his work. Sid sir and Adi sir showed him the film. He liked it and had some suggestions. They took some of it and didn’t take the others. He would normally give advice if you have specific questions for him. But beyond that, he does not get too much into our lives. He lets us be. If you have a specific question, then he is very helpful actually,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Junaid Khan has two theatrical releases lined up for 2025. Talking about one of the projects, the young actor shared, “I have a film produced by Phantom Films releasing on February 7. It’s a fun rom-com starring Khushi Kapoor, quite different from my last period drama Maharaj.” On the other hand, his second project is a film directed by Sunil Pandey and backed by his father’s banner, Aamir Khan Productions.
