In an exclusive interview with Showsha, Juan talked about being a part of this project and shared that it is very important to present stories like Lucca’s World. “I think as an actor, you’re always waiting to get an opportunity like this to be able to tell stories that can move people. And when you are doing it, it obviously moves you and stays with you forever. The film is so important that people can relate to it. So, it’s been like a beautiful present to be a part of it. It is going to stay with me forever,” he said.
The actor also admitted that portraying such a real and sensitive narrative also brings in a lot of responsibility.
“When you get invited to do something like this and you can see the book and you meet the parents, you have a responsibility. Fortunately, we have the best director possible. She related to the story enormously and worked with the script for a long time. Everybody made this possible as they took it very, very seriously. In this particular case, I think the script is very well written and understood by our director. She translates that to us. We did our part with our hearts. It was very powerful for us,” Juan added and shared that being a part of this project was “beautiful”.
Juan further hopes that Lucca’s World will inspire the audience to have faith in themselves. “This is a film that represents who that family is so they can see what they went through and the fight that Barbara Anderson has in her,” he said. Juan concluded by saying that the motive of the film is also to make people aware of the disability so that they can also spread love around.
