Despite her attempts to avoid discussing her ex, Jennifer Lopez’s name surfaced in the ongoing scandal. An ex-Playboy model claimed that Combs forced her to watch a music video featuring the Let’s Get Loud singer during one of his infamous Freak Off parties.
In the midst of serious legal turmoil surrounding her former partner, Sean Diddy Combs, Jennifer Lopez is choosing silence over statements. Despite mounting curiosity about her possible awareness of the allegations against him, the actress-singer is sidestepping any discussion related to his scandal. Recently, paparazzi made attempts to corner Lopez with questions about the alarming accusations faced by the music mogul. After a screening of her new film, Unstoppable, in Los Angeles on October 26, she was reportedly approached by a man who asked, “Do you have any comments about P. Diddy?”
The clip, shared by the Daily Mail, reportedly shows the Jenny From the Block singer maintaining a stoic expression, seemingly ignoring the question, before quickly departing with her bodyguard.
In another encounter, filmed by Page Six outside the popular LA eatery Funke after a dinner with her manager, Benny Medina, on October 19, Lopez found herself surrounded by photographers. When one of them enquired, “Hey Jennifer, do you have anything to say about the P Diddy situation?” the Hustlers star appeared visibly uncomfortable, glancing down before hurriedly getting into the passenger side of a waiting vehicle.
Lopez is not alone in her efforts to distance herself from Combs. Earlier in October, comedian Kevin Hart faced similar scrutiny when asked about hosting parties for the rapper. Hart firmly responded, “You asking the wrong person the wrong question, man. It’s not a good question.”
Despite her attempts to avoid discussing her ex, Lopez’s name surfaced in the ongoing scandal. An ex-Playboy model claimed that Combs forced her to watch a music video featuring the Let’s Get Loud singer during one of his infamous Freak Off parties. Rachel Kennedy detailed her experience on the Daily Mail’s The Trial of Diddy podcast, saying, “It was kind of an odd thing to find out that we were watching Lopez’s video. It seemed a little bit creepy to me, very disrespectful.” She also claimed that Combs was on the phone with Lopez during her alleged encounter with him in a Tokyo hotel room back in 2000.
Lopez and Combs reportedly dated from 1999 to 2001, but while he faces serious allegations—including claims of rape from at least one victim—Lopez, 55, has not been implicated in any lawsuits against him nor accused of any wrongdoing.
Combs has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, fraud, coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. Although he has pleaded not guilty, he is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY, without bail. His trial is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
