Jennifer Aniston ‘Struggling’ After Matthew Perry’s Death, ‘Kept to Herself’ at F.R.I.E.N.D.S Star Funeral? –

Leaving a forever void in the hearts of many, F.R.I.E.N.D.S actor Matthew Perry, better known as Chandler Bing passed away on October 28. According to reports the cause of his death was “apparent drowning”. He was 54. On November 3, the late F.R.I.E.N.D.S actor was laid to rest at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, reported Entertainment Tonight. Apart from Matthew’s family, the entire cast of F.R.I.E.N.D.S including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer attended the funeral. Now, the latest reports suggest that Jennifer Aniston was having a hard time accepting the death of Matthew Pery, mostly “keeping to herself” at the venue.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Jennifer Aniston was the first F.R.I.E.N.D.S cast member to arrive at the funeral premises. Gripped by grief a source revealed that she “kept herself to herself” when the hour-long rites were taking place. The report further claimed that Jennifer and Matthew Perry forged an immediate close bond when the American series started filming in 1994. In the 2022 F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing Matthew revealed that he met Jennifer back in 1991 and tried to date her but she turned him down.

However, Matthew Perry and Jeniffer Aniston continued to remain great F.R.I.E.N.D.S for 10 years, with the Horrible Bosses actress even supporting him through his battle with “drug addiction.” A close friend of Jennifer told Daily Mail, “Nobody shed more tears for Matthew during the darkest points of his struggles with addiction than Jennifer. There was speculation at the time of the 2021 F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion that Matthew wouldn’t be a part of it because his demons had gotten the better of him. But Jennifer absolutely wouldn’t have done it without him. He put in the work and made it a success even though he seemed frail”.

The anonymous friend added that Jennifer Aniston “genuinely” believed that Matthew Perry’s darkest days were over. But his sudden death just two years down the line came as a “bitter blow to her”. “This was a day that Jennifer had dreaded coming for 20 years. She always wanted to help Matthew in any way she could – that was a constant for her,” the source concluded, as cited by Daily Mail.

Reports claim that Matthew Perry drowned in his home’s jacuzzi at Pacific Palisades. The cemetery in a way was a tribute to the late actor as it was located close to Warner Bros Studios where F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ 10 seasons were filmed.
