Jawan director Atlee has finally opened up on the films whopping budget.
Following the huge success of Atlee’s Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan is all set for a media meet at the YRF studios today. Ahead of the big event, his manager, Pooja Dadlani, took to Instagram to share his look. Shah Rukh Khan can be seen in a crisp, white shirt paired with a black blazer with a belt detailing near the waist. He pulled his long locks back in braids. He accessorised the look with stacked bracelets. Deepika Padukone slipped into a white chiffon sari with black, sequined border, and a halter-neck blouse. She accessorised the look with emerald drop earrings and opted for dramatic, winged eyeliner. At the press conference, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone also shook a leg to Jawan’s hit romantic song, Chaleya, as music composer Anirudh Ravichander, crooned the song.
Speaking of Jawan’s budget, Atlee said, “I narrated the film on a Zoom call during Covid times. I know theatrical footfall was going down and people were not ready to greenlight even a 30-40 crore film. I know because I am also a producer. But sir [Shah Rukh Khan] greenlighted a Rs 300 cr film when everyone was skeptical. But we didn’t stop at Rs 300 cr. We went more. We made a blockbuster in three days and now, we are flying.”
Even eight days after its release, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has refused to slow down at the box office. The film continues to earn in double digits and is now inching close to Rs 400 crore mark. As reported by the industry tracker Sacnilk, early estimates suggest that Jawan earned Rs 19.50 crore on Thursday, September 14. With this, the film’s total collection stands at Rs 388.72 crore. It has become the best-ever Hindi opener at global box office and in the domestic market too. The film also holds the record of highest single-day earner of all time.
