Jaat Box Office Collection Day 1: Showsha rated the film 3 out of 5 stars, calling it a “pure masala entertainer.”

Sunny Deol is back in action and this time, he’s bringing the heat to both North and South India. His latest release, Jaat, which also stars Randeep Hooda, got off to a strong start at the box office, collecting an impressive Rs 9.5 crore (India net, early estimates) on its opening day. According to Sacnilk.com, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 12.89% on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Riding high on the success of Gadar 2, Sunny’s return to the big screen is once again drawing crowds. The masala entertainer pairs him with Randeep Hooda, who plays the menacing antagonist. The cast also features Ayesha Khan, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Bandhavi Sridhar, Vishika Kota, Praneeta Patnaik, Doulath Sulthana, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ajay Ghosh, Dayanand Shetty, Jagapati Babu, and Babloo Prithiveeraj. Jaat is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, Naveen Yerneni, and Y. Ravi Shankar.
Showsha rated the film 3 out of 5 stars, calling it a “pure masala entertainer.” One standout moment highlighted in the review is when Sunny Deol delivers the line, “Iss dhai kilo ke haath ki taakat, poora north dekh chuka hai, ab South dekhega,” before using his iconic hand to literally stop a speeding car. The review adds, “Randeep Hooda as a villain is what we should be seeing on the screens more often. He is fearless and scary.” However, the film’s second half received some criticism: “It’s like the writers ran out of plot and just threw more stunts at the screen… Unfortunately, the second half is a bit of a drag.”
As for the digital release, Jaat is reportedly heading to Netflix after its theatrical run, according to OneIndia. Based on typical Bollywood release schedules, the film is expected to drop on the OTT platform by the end of May or early June. Though Netflix is likely the exclusive streaming partner, an official confirmation is still awaited.
With solid numbers on Day 1 and word-of-mouth building, Jaat looks set for a promising run at the box office.
