The much-anticipated Marathi film, Jhimma 2, directed by Hemant Dhome, made its way to theatres on November 24, marking a sequel to the highly successful Jhimma. The film, already receiving positive reviews from critics, has attracted audiences with its compelling storyline. Hemant Dhome took to Instagram to share a heartwarming post, urging viewers to experience the movie.
The director’s Instagram post includes a touching clip from the sets of Jhimma 2, featuring him and his wife, Kshiti Jog. The clip depicts them navigating through rocky terrain, symbolising the challenges faced during the filmmaking process. Alongside the video, Dhome expressed gratitude and shared insights into the film’s journey.
“We were supporting each other like this while making our way through the cracks. Sometimes stumbling and sometimes laughing. Jhimma 2 has completed its journey! And we enjoyed this journey immensely. This would not have been possible without the support of my entire team, we sincerely thank everyone associated with Jhimma 2,” he wrote.
Highlighting the film’s transition from the filmmakers’ creation to the audience’s possession, Dhome stated, “This film is no longer ours; it has become yours. All those characters, even their essence, have become yours. You celebrated it in the last batch. We are sure you will love it just as much this time too! Ours is the third child of the film family. Bringing a piece of our care with lots of love, from today to the nearest cinema.”
Jhimma 2 boasts an ensemble cast featuring talented actors such as Suhas Joshi, Nirvana Sawant, Suchitra Bandekar, Kshiti Jog, Saili Sanjeev, Rinku Rajguru, Shivani Surve, and Siddharth Chandekar. Notably, all the actors, except Sonali Kulkarni and Mrunmayi Godbole, reprise their roles from the prequel. The first part of the film, released in 2021, achieved significant success, becoming the second-highest-grossing Marathi movie of the year.
