Madhuri Dixit and Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene are one of Bollywood’s most loved couples. Having been married since 1999, they have been unwavering pillars of support for each other. While the actress was recently awarded the ‘Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema’ Award at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, there are reports doing the rounds that Dr. Nene, her husband, is gearing up to for his acting debut.
In a recent development, Madhuri Dixit received a prestigious award at the 54th International Film Festival of India. Expressing her gratitude for the honour, the actress said, “I’m feeling very honored to have been bestowed upon such an award and whenever you get this kind of award you feel encouraged, and you feel to do much better work in this creative field. You feel that hunger so that we can give more entertainment to our audiences.” She added, “Cinema has given me so much, it’s time to give something back in return. What better way to do so than through song and dance which is integral to not just Indian cinema, but Indian culture as well.”
That apart, Madhuri also performed at the prestigious film festival to a medley of her hit songs. The actress attended the festival with her husband and she also spoke about her home production film, Panchak.
When asked if Dr Nene has any plans for acting, Madhuri said, “He is a surgeon, he is a doctor. He hails from a different platform altogether.” But, it was Dr Nene’s reply that caught everyone’s attention. He said, “Oh!, Yeah…..acting …will see…”
Madhuri recently starred in the web series “The Fame Game.” Directed by Sri Rao, the series featured Lakshvir Saran, Manav Kaul, Sanjay Kapoor, Gagan Arora, Rajshri Deshpande, Muskkaan Jaferi, and more. The eight-episode series premiered on the Netflix OTT platform.
