While the issue was first reported on Tuesday evening, many users complained of being unable to use the social media platform properly even on Wednesday.
Multiple users have been facing issues while trying to send messages which then disappear as soon as they are sent. Tinboxessue is mainly being flagged with the DM section of the Instagram app. Some users have also reported having trouble with their chat inboxes.
This is not the first time that Instagram has faced such an outage. Several users reported on June 23 that they were facing a glitch that did not allow them to view their own ‘stories’ on social media apps.
Instagram users took to Twitter and shared the issues with #instagramdown trending on the microblogging site.

Many shared screenshots of the apps on their smartphones; some said that their feeds were not refreshing; some were even unable to log in to their Instagram accounts. During the ongoing, Instagram users had issues accessing the app’s camera too.
Downdetector, an online platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and services, also flagged the outage as a spike in issues was observed since today morning.
