Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 Intro has finally released after much wait and anticipation.
After much wait and anticipation, the makers have unveiled the first intro of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2.
After a long period of going through development hell, the Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 is finally gaining traction. S Shankar is directing the sequel to the 1996 Indian, starring Kamal Haasan. The movie is presently in its last phase. Additionally, all of the Kamal Haasan-related scenes have been filmed. Amid this news, the makers introduced Kamal Haasan as Hindustani 2 with a powerful intro.
The intro video kicks off with Kamal Haasan in an old avatar, speaking from a phone booth. He says, “Wherever injustice happens, I will appear. Indian is immortal.” The scene cuts to a montage accompanied with a pumping tune. In it, we see how corruption has become rampant in government offices, officials taking bribes to get things done, violence and chaos. The clip also showed common citizens asking for the ‘Indian’ to return. It concluded with Kamal Haasan coming into the frame, obscuring Subhas Chandra Bose’s picture in the background, while wearing a Khakhi cap and uniform. He states, “Greetings India, Hindustani is back.”

Just a couple of days back, it was reported that the movie was presently in its last phase. Additionally, all of the Kamal Haasan-related scenes have been filmed. It was shared that Chimbu Deven, Visakhagan and Vasanthabalan, who worked as assistant directors under Shankar and turned directors are also helping with direction in the film as Shankar has also been directing RC15 starring Ram Charan simultaneously. Reportedly, they are shooting the scenes involving Siddharth while all the scenes with Kamal Haasan were directed by Shankar.
Indian 2 was announced in 2019 but had faced many production problems along the way. A tragic accident on the sets which claimed the lives of two crew members had put production on halt and after that, the COVID-19 pandemic further delayed the project.
After the pandemic, Kamal Haasan and S Shankar got busy with other projects and the film was considered shelved until the former confirmed that Indian 2 was happening during a promotional event for Vikram. The team is planning to release this film during the summer holidays of next year.
Indian 2 also stars Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Samudra Gani, Bobby Simha, George Marion and others. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the film. Indian 2 is being produced by Red Giant Movies in association with Lyca Productions. The 1996 film Indian narrated the tale of a freedom fighter turned vigilante who kills corrupt bureaucrats and government officials to weed out corruption from society.
