KL Rahul made a stellar comeback to international cricket as the wicketkeeper batter smashed a half-century in 60 balls against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 clash on Monday, September 11. As the country celebrates his achievement, KL Rahul’s wife and actress Athiya Shetty is on cloud 9.
Taking to her Instagram handle on Monday, Athiya Shetty shared a picture of KL Rahul, right after his century. She also attached a video of the ace-cricketer, at the moment when he crossed the 100 mark as well as a picture of the scoreboard. She also penned a heartfelt note in the caption. It read, “Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise… You are everything, I love you. #1.”

While the match started on Sunday, it was pushed to reserve day due to rain, although that had no effect on the Indian batters as Virat Kohli and Rahul resumed from 147/2 after 24.1 overs and stitched together a 150-run partnership. Rahul showed his peak aggression against the Pakistani bowlers as he dispatched the spinners, Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed all over the park. One of the peak moments of his knock came when the wicketkeeper batter danced down the park and hit Shadab for a massive six that left Kohli and Indian captain Rohit Sharma in disbelief.
Athiya and KL Rahul tied the knot on January 23. The wedding ceremony took place at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. The couple also organized a grand wedding reception later in Mumbai. As stated in reports, this reception had more than 3000 guests in attendance.
