Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are currently in Ahmedabad to watch the nail-biting end to the thrilling ICC World Cup 2023. The final match is being played between India and Australia in the Narendra Modi stadium on Sunday and has been graced by celebrities and dignitaries from all walks of life. Among several pictures and videos that made its way to social media, a video of Ranveer and Deepika has gone viral where the couple are seen singing the national anthem right before the match.
The clip was shared by popular paparazzo handle Instant Bollywood and it captured Deepika and Ranveer sporting blue and orange Indian jerseys respectively and standing with the rest of the stadium crowd to pay respect to the Indian National anthem by singing along with them. The video soon went viral across platforms, with fans lauding Ranveer’s and Deepika’s dedication towards the country.

On Sunday morning, the paparazzi spotted Deepika and Ranveer sport matching Indian jerseys. While Deepika matched the jersey with a pair of denim pants, Ranveer was seen wearing a Dream 11 jersey with a white and blue jacket representing India. Deepika was seen making her way to the flight with her father, Prakash Padukone by her side. Videos of them at the airport has now gone viral.
Apart from Deepika and Ranveer, fans are expecting Anushka Sharma in the stands. She was present at the India vs New Zealand semi finals match, cheering for Virat Kohli. Apart from Bollywood, former cricketers Kapil Dev, and Sachin Tendulkar were also spotted at the aiport heading for the match. It is reported that dignitaries including India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will be watching the World Cup final match at the renowned stadium with a seating capacity of 132,000 spectators.
Apart from PM Modi, Marles, and who is who of the entertainment industry, Central Government Ministers and Chief Ministers of other states were also expected to come to Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium to watch this final match.
India will be eyeing to win the World Cup for the third time. India brought home the first cup in 1983, under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. A film on the tournament was released in 2021, titled ’83. The film was headlined by Ranveer Singh, who played the role of Kapil Dev. The Indian team brought home the cup again in 2011.
