Imran Khan brought back memories from 2008 when he sang Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa at a recent event. Over the weekend, Imran sat down to talk about his work in Bollywood and his long break from it when he travelled back in time and decided to treat fans with a scoop of nostalgia. In a video gone viral, Imran was seen seated on stage and singing Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa from Aa Gale Lag Jaa. The song played a pivotal role in his debut film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa.
In the movie, his character Jai sings the song for Aditi, played by Genelia, after he realises that he is in love with her. Following the film’s release, the song became popular yet again among youngsters. Imran singing the song again left fans grinning with joy. Many also urged Imran to make a comeback soon.
“Ohh man, my sister and I used to fangirl over him so hard He still has that charm, waiting to see him back on the big screen <3,” a comment read. “Ugh cuteeee can’t wait for his comeback,” a second comment read. “Dude is so much in shape…he is ready for a comeback,” a fan wrote.
At the event, Imran confirmed that he is reading scripts. However, he has no concrete answer as to when he will return to the big screen. “Hopefully, next year,” he said. Fans have been rooting for Imran’s comeback, with many telling the actor they miss his era of romcoms.
A few weeks ago, Pinkvilla reported that Imran Khan could be returning on the screen with Abbas Tyrewala in a spy action drama series. “Imran made his acting debut with Tyrewala’s cult youth classic, Jaane Tu… Ya Jane Na, and is teaming up with the director again to embark on a new phase in his career. They have been discussing this project for a while now, and things are progressing positively. And contrary to what everyone might be expecting, Imran won’t be reprising the role of a chocolate boy this time. Instead, he will be seen playing the age-appropriate role of an intelligence officer in this yet-untitled show for a leading OTT platform,” a source told the platform.
