I Want To Talk, the Shoojit Sircar directorial featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Johnny Lever and Banita Sandhu in lead roles, has crossed the Rs 1 crore mark at the national box office on Day 3. The slice-of-life drama opened to a slow start on November 22. According to Sacnilk.com, the film minted Rs 25 Lakh on Day 1, Rs 55 Lakh on Day 2 and on Day 3, the film collected Rs 53 Lakh in India which takes the film’s total 3-day collection to Rs 1.33 Crore.

Despite getting positive reviews from fans and critics, the film failed to achieve significant numbers at the ticket counters. Reportedly, the film had an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.55 percent on November 24. Abhishek’s previous theatrical release, Ghoomer co-starring Siyami Kher and Angad Bedi performed better than I Want To Talk. On day 3, as per sacnilk.com, it earned Rs 1.53 crore at the national box office.

I Want To Talk features Abhishek as a terminally ill father who wants to reconnect with his daughter. It marks the actor’s first collaboration with director Shoojit Sircar, who is known for making films such as Vicky Donor, Sardar Uddham, October, Piku and others. The film is inspired by a true story and also features Jayant Kriplani and Ahilya Bamroo in key roles.

Recently, talking about his role in the film, Abhishek told Hindustan Times, “Someone who has dealt with the things that he has dealt with and continues to deal with, it’s very easy to get fed up after 31 odd years and say, ‘bahut ho gaya hai, abhi aur nahi karna hai’ (I’ve had enough, I don’t want to go on). But no, the fact that he is continuing at it, continuously trying, is what makes him truly brave.”

Megastar and Abhishek’s father Amitabh Bachchan also showered praise on the film. Taking to X, Big B recently wrote, “Magical is the IN word .. my love blessings and more. Mere bete, bete hone se mere uttaradhikari nahin honge, jo mere uttaradhikari honge woh mere bete honge. Abhishek mere bete; mere uttaradhikari (My son, being a son does not make him my successor; those who will be my successors will be my sons. Abhishek is my son and my successor.)”

Abhishek will be next seen in the dance drama film Be Happy which also features Nora Fatehi, Johnny Lever, Nasser and Harleem Sethi in pivotal roles. Helmed by Remo D’Souza, the film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Apart from that, he also has the comedy film Housefull 5 alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonam Bajwa and Jacqueline Fernandez and King alongside Shah Rukh Khan in his kitty.
