Hyundai i20 price, launch date, facelift details, Baleno rival

The facelifted i20 will rival the Baleno, Glanza and Altroz in India; launch in the coming months.

The Hyundai i20 facelift made its global debut in May 2023 with revised styling and updated equipment. The facelifted i20 has now been spotted testing in India and some new details on the test mule are prominent.

  1. Facelifted i20 gets styling tweaks
  2. Gets mildly revised headlamps and tail-lamps
  3. No mechanical changes expected in India

Hyundai i20 facelift: what’s new?

When it made its global debut, the facelifted i20 featured a new pentagram-styled 16- and 17-inch wheel design. However, the i20 facelift seen in the spy shots feature a different wheel design as compared to the international model; however, it is also different from the one offered on the India-spec i20 and i20 N Line currently.

Although under heavy cover, we can see that the bumpers on the i20 facelift get a new design with cuts and creases, along with reworked headlamps and tail-light. The i20 facelift that was revealed for international markets did not get any major interior changes apart from the addition of ambient lights, and that could be the case in India too.

Hyundai i20 facelift gets ADAS overseas

Apart from styling tweaks, Hyundai has added ADAS features to the i20 facelift abroad. These include forward collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, blind spot collision-avoidance assist and more. These systems are making their presence felt in our market of late, however, there is no news on whether the i20 facelift for India would come equipped with them. The Creta facelift, on the other hand, which is expected to go on sale next year, will most likely get ADAS tech.

Hyundai i20 facelift engine and powertrain

The Hyundai i20 is offered with either a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol or a 1.0-litre direct injection turbo-petrol engine mated to either a five-speed manual, a CVT automatic, an iMT or a DCT automatic, depending on the engine. The 1.2-litre NA engine makes 83hp with the manual but 88hp with the CVT, while the turbocharged 1.0-litre engine produces 120hp and is the engine that comes equipped on the i20 N Line. We expect both engine options to continue on the facelifted model.

Hyundai i20 facelift launch and price

The facelifted Hyundai i20 can be expected to go on sale in the Indian market after the launch of the Exter micro-SUV. Prices for the current-gen i20 start at Rs 7.46 lakh and go up to Rs 11.88 lakh, while the i20 N Line range stretches up to Rs 12.31 lakh.
