Alcazar facelift will be the third new SUV from Hyundai in India this year.
Hyundai is gearing up to launch the Alcazar facelift within months of updating the Creta. The refreshed Alcazar will go on sale by May or June and be the third Hyundai SUV to launch this year after the Creta N Line that is due next month.
- Alcazar facelift could get new Creta’s dashboard
- No mechanical changes expected
Hyundai Alcazar facelift design
While the Alcazar is essentially a three-row Creta, it does get its own unique identity along with a more premium look and feel. The styling updates on the Alcazar facelift will be on lines of the updated Creta, although, the front bumper and grille, the headlamp and Daytime Running Lamp signature, the alloy wheels and the rear tail-light design are expected to be unique.
On the inside, we expect the new-look dashboard from the Creta facelift to make its way to the Alcazar. The features list will include tech like the twin 10.25 inch screens, ADAS suite, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated seats carried over from the Creta, and the cabin space and seating will also remain unchanged. However, there could be some changes to the upholstery and interior shades to keep things fresh.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift to get no powertrain changes
No powertrain change is expected on the updated Alcazar, and it will continue with the 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Creta; both updated to meet BS6 Stage II emissions norms. Expect the respective manual and automatic gearboxes to be carried forward as well.Â
A minor price hike is expected on some variants of the Alcazar facelift, and we expect more details to trickle in as the launch nears. The Alcazar rivals the likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700.
