The petrol and diesel variants of Alcazar have one crucial difference on the equipment front.
I am considering buying the new Hyundai Alcazar facelift, but I am confused whether to opt for the petrol or diesel engine. What’s strange is that both variants are priced exactly the same for each trim. My monthly running is about 1200km, so fuel efficiency is a priority. Please advise.

Autocar India says: The new Hyundai Alcazar is a very well-equipped SUV with particular focus on rear seat comfort. It gets ventilated rear seats, fold out tray tables, a boss mode function and even extendable thigh support. However, Hyundai has skipped on one nicety in the diesel variants – the panoramic sunroof.
None of the diesel variants of the Alcazar come equipped with the panoramic whereas for the petrol variants, it is on offer from the second-from-base Prestige trim. The diesel variants also do not get a spare tyre. By removing these features, Hyundai has not only reduced prices of the diesel variants to keep it at par with the petrol, but it has also managed to save about 50kgs of weight. This has helped achieve a fuel economy of over 20kpl for the diesel variants, which is what customers value when buying a diesel. So, if efficiency is your priority and you can do without a sunroof, the diesel should be your ideal pick.
