Apurva is a survival thriller film that was released in 2023. The film starred Tara Sutaria, Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee, Dhairya Karwa, and Sumit Gulati in the lead roles. Apurva saw Rajpal Yadav play the role of a gangster. The actor was always seen in comic roles, but this was the first time he played the role of a villain. His performance was lauded by the critics, who described him as unrecognisable in the role.
Even the audience was impressed by his performance. One of his most standout scenes from the film was when he attacked the bus driver who tried to overtake him. Apart from that, another scene where his character’s evil instinct was highly appreciated.

The film revolved around a group of gangsters who kidnapped a woman. Later, the same woman musters courage and survives her way out of the gangsters’ clutch. In the end, the woman escapes from there by killing all the gangsters. The film was directed by Nikhil Bhat and produced by Murad Khetani under the banners of Star Studios and Cine1 Studios. The film received a direct OTT release.
