Vijay Sethupathi had once refused to romance Krithi Shetty on-screen as he felt it would become awkward.
Vijay Sethupathi is regarded as one of the finest actors to have emerged in Indian cinema. From Super Deluxe to Farzi and now Jawan, Vijay Sethupathi has established himself as a pan-India star, with his versatility and an all-round performance. Thus, it’s only natural for the makers to pursue Vijay Sethupathi for their projects. But even the actor has certain boundaries and parameters set in place through which he likes to filter out work for himself. A fine example of that would be when he turned down to work with Krithi Shetty due to the age gap.
During an old interview, at the promotional event for his action film Laabam, the talented actor had revealed how he was paired with the Uppena fame Krithi Shetty but he felt uncomfortable, subhe Krithi had played his daughter earlier. The actor explained that he could never romance someone whom he considers like his daughter.
Vijay had told News Buzz, “While I was shooting for Labham, the makers said they were planning to rope in Krithi Shetty for the female lead role in the film. At that time, Uppena was in the making as well. In Uppena, Krithi Shetty played my daughter. Incidentally, the makers of Laabam were contemplating the idea of roping in Krithi Shetty for the female lead role to act alongside me. But I immediately turned down their advancements. How can I romance an actress who is playing my daughter in a film that is also shot simultaneously? This would have been such an awkward experience. I rejected the prospect of Krithi Shetty playing my love interest in Laabam.”
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi has impressed everyone with his character of Kalee Gaekwad in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan. Helmed by Atlee, the film has been shattering records, even after three weeks since its release. Now Vijay Sethupathi is looking forward to his next big Hindi film Merry Christmas, featuring Katrina Kaif. The Sriram Raghavan directorial is slated to release in December this year.
