Hero Xtreme price, new 125R model India launch date

This will be the most premium and sporty 125cc bike in Hero’s line-up.

In mid 2023, we reported that Hero was working on two new 125cc bikes and also shared an image of one of them on test. That bike is now ready for an official unveiling at the Hero World event on 23 Jan 2024. However an image of the bike has leaked just before the event.

  1. Gets an aggresive, sporty design
  2. Could sport a new chassis

The image reveals that the bike will be called the Xtreme 125R. With this motorcycle, Hero will be targeting the likes of the TVS Raider, Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and the Honda SP125

From what can be seen, the bike has a sporty design with a large fuel tank that is flanked by large shrouds along the side. The aggressive looking LED headlamp also reminds of bigger bikes like the Kawasaki Z1000 and the new Honda CB1000 Hornet. However, the twin pilot LED lights on top give this motorcycle its own identity. Sleek LED indicators also add to the look.

The side profile gets silver coloured body panels to increase the premium feel while a split seat set up adds to the sporty look. The exhaust also looks more youthful and is different to any other Hero 125cc motorcycle.

Engine details are not yet clear but from the leaked image, it appears that this bike shares the motor from existing models like the Hero Glamour. That engine produces 10.8hp and 10.6Nm of power. However, given that Hero is pitting this machine against the sporty TVS Raider which makes 11.4hp, we could see a small bump in the power figure.

It is unclear whether this is a new chassis altogether, but that could be the case, Either way, with that tall tail section, the rear subframe is surely different to Hero’s existing 125s. Suspension is handled by a telescopic fork and a monoshock while the bike gets a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.

For reference, the TVS Raider is priced between Rs 95,000 – Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect similar, if not slightly lower pricing for the Hero. The company will also be revealing the Mavrick 440 at this event and there are likely to be a few other surprises in store as well.
