Hero Xtreme 160R, 2V model launch, update details -DellyRanks

After updating the Xtreme 160R 4V a few months ago, Hero has filtered some of those down to the Xtreme 160R 2V, which is now priced at Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 

  1. Xtreme 2V now gets a drag race timer and 0-60kph timer
  2. Only available with rear drum brake and single-channel ABS
  3. Single-piece seat, taillight now the same as Xtreme 160R 4V 

Hero Xtreme 160R 2V: gets new features from the 4V

The Xtreme 160R 2V now gets the same drag race and 0-60kph timers as the 4V variant. Along with that there are also some visible changes that have been carried forward from the 4V, such as the new tail-light and the single-piece seat. Hero claims the seat has a flatter seat profile that claims to improve overall comfort, with the pillion seat height level also significantly lowered, compared to before.

The Xtreme 160R 2V is only available in one variant finished in black, with single-channel ABS, owing to the rear drum brake. Powering the Xtreme 160R 2V is the same air-cooled, 163.2cc, single-cylinder motor making 15hp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. 

Underpinnings are par for the course with a diamond frame nestling the motor suspended by a telescopic fork and monoshock. Tyre sizes are the same as the Xtreme 160R 4V with a 100/80-17 front and 130/70-R17 tyre out back. Seat height is set at an accessible 795mm and the Xtreme weighs 145kg with its 12 litre tank brimmed. 

At Rs 1.11 lakh, the Hero Xtreme 160R 2V is Rs 28,000 more affordable than the 4V. Rivals to the Xtreme 160R 2V are the Bajaj Pulsar N150 (Rs 1.25 lakh) and the Yamaha FZ range of bikes (Rs 1.17 lakh – Rs 1.30 lakh).
