Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition launched, bookings open from July 22

The Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition comes equipped with the Rally Kit out of the box, but with a different set of tyres.

Hero has taken the wraps off the Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition, which comes with most of the off-road biased Rally Kit as standard. The bike has been launched at a price of Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and can be booked on the company’s official website starting from July 22-29.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition: What’s different?

The biggest change over the standard Xpulse 200 4V comes in the form of a taller and fatter 37mm fully-adjustable front fork and rear monoshock. These changes result in a massive 270mm of ground clearance and a vertigo-inducing seat height of 885mm. To aid a better riding position off the beaten path, an extended gear lever, as well as handlebar risers that are taller by 40mm over stock, are on offer. Keeping this lanky machine upright is a taller side-stand taken from the Rally Kit.

Visually, there are a few changes to differentiate it from the stock Xpulse. For starters, the ‘Rally Code’ paint scheme on offer here is exclusive to the Rally Edition. The red finishing on the cylinder head is also a touch unique to it. Arguably, the most desirable visual touch is the autograph of Hero’s factory Dakar racer, CS Santosh.

The Rally Edition, however, misses out on the off-road focused block pattern Maxxis tyres, as seen on the Rally Kit. It gets the same CEAT tyres as on the standard Xpulse 200 4V.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition: sensibly priced off-roader

The Xpulse 200 has always been a fairly affordable proposition and in its current 4V guise costs Rs 1.32 lakh. While the Rally Kit commands a Rs 46,000 premium over the standard bike, the Rally Edition matches nearly all the equipment at just a Rs 20,000 premium over the stock bike – this makes it the sweeter deal if the Maxxis off-road tyres aren’t a must-have for you.
