Standard operating procedures have been published by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) to assist customers of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) in linking their Aadhaar cards to their TNEB accounts.
It is essential to note that TNEB customers must link their Aadhaar cards to their TNEB accounts in order to receive their power subsidy. The same has been ordered by the government of Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation has extended the final due date for customers whose bills are due between November 24 and November 30.According to reports, TNEB and Aadhaar must be linked by December 31, 2022.
In order to enforce Aadhaar linking, TANGEDCO offices are refusing to collect current consumption (CC) charges from customers who have not linked their Aadhaar with TNEB.
Follow these steps to link Aadhaar with TNEB online:
- Visit the official TNEB website at adhar.tnebltd.org/Aadhaar/. After entering your Service Connection Number, mobile phone number, security captcha, and other details, click Enter.
- Create an OTP to approve your mobile number.
- Now, enter the number from your Aadhaar card that you want to add to your TANGEDCO account.
- Simply enter your name as it appears on your Aadhaar card.
- Send your Aadhaar card to us.
- Deliver the form. Additionally, the acknowledgement receipt can be downloaded.
Note: At the moment, Aadhaar can only be linked to a service number for domestic, power loom, agricultural, and hut services.
