How to update your Aadhaar card’s address online:
- Select the option to “Proceed to Update Address” from the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.
- Use your registered mobile number, Aadhaar number, and one-time password to log in.
- “Proceed to update address” will appear.
- Enter the OTP to sign in.
- Enter the new address after selecting “Update New Address Proof.”
- Select the documents that should be submitted as proof of address after this.
- After uploading the scanned copy of the address verification, click the “Submit” button.
- If the Aadhaar update request is granted, a 14-digit Update Request Number will be generated.
Time limit for changing an address
An Aadhaar card’s 12-digit unique number contains information about the citizen in question. Age, the names and addresses of both parents, and many other details are included. According to UIDAI, Aadhaar cardholders have a limited amount of time to change their addresses.
According to UIDAI, people with Aadhaar cards can only change their names in their Aadhaar records twice in their lifetime. Additionally, you can only change your birthdate once with Aadhaar. You can’t always change your name in Aadhaar data.
