The F5 Roadster gets the same 1,842hp, V8 engine as the coupe.
American high-performance brand Hennessey, known for its speed-centric approach to building cars, has unveiled the Venom F5 Roadster. Like its coupe counterpart, the F5 Roadster comes with the manufacturers 6.6-litre V8 engine, called Fury, with the same 1,842hp and paired to a seven-speed single-clutch automatic transmission.

Hennessey says that it expects the F5 to be the world’s fastest convertible with a claimed top speed of over 482kph. This would mean that Hennessey will break its own ‘world’s fastest convertible’ record, currently held by the Venom GT Spyder.
While Hennessey claims that the hypercar has been designed to cross the 482kph mark, the exact top speed with the car’s roof removed has not been specified. The 0-100kph time is also unknown, but expect it to be slightly higher than the coupe’s 2.6sec mark due to the roadster’s added 20kg weight.
The F5 Roadster features a removable hardtop roof weighing around 8kg, and the brand, which likes to call the roof “a work of art”, expects buyers to display it in their “art galleries.”
Hennessey says that the car also features a number of “easter eggs” which include reverse naca ducts built into the tail-lights that push out hot air from the engine. The F-shaped key fobs each contain a piece from the space shuttle Endeavour – the second last shuttle that left Earth.
Only 30 F5 Venom Roadsters will be built, each priced at USD 3 million (approximately Rs 24 crore), and they are all already spoken for. The Roadster production will commence later this year, with deliveries expected from early 2023.
