Apartment living is the norm in Mumbai, but in Delhi, even the poorest people possess a modest home. I was already married and living in a modest flat with my wife Gauri when I arrived in Mumbai. I would hear my mother-in-law exclaim, “You live in such a small house.” I eventually felt like that Delhi wala kothi when I saw Mannat, so I bought it—that was the most costly thing I ever purchased,” he said.
