Government extends FREE ration scheme by this month: Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana

As per this program, the government offers the ration card holder's sans family rations.

The national government chose to broaden the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for a further three months on Wednesday. The union cabinet endorsed the expansion of the free ration program through December on September 28.

In the meeting, it was concluded that the government would put more than Rs 40,000 crores in this program over the accompanying three months. In this program, the government has previously dedicated 3.8 lakh crore rupees.


It is critical to take note of that after Coronavirus, no financing was allotted for the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). In spite of this, the government proclaimed on Walk 26, 2022 that it would go on for six extra months after the financial plan. The government had expressed at the time that around Rs 80,000 crore would be spent to proceed with this program for an additional a half year. It is guessed that an extra use of about Rs 40,000 crores will be made on it since the public authority has chosen to expand it for three additional months.

As per this program, the government offers the ration card holder’s without family rations. Up to this point, 1,003 lakh metric lots of food grains have been circulated by the government through this program. To give free 5 kg of foodgrains per individual every month, the program was presented in the year 2020. To diminish their enduring during the lockdown, the Public Food Security Act (NFSA) covers around 80 crore recipients.
