Google I/O 2023: Expected launches, live stream details and more


Google’s annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023, kicks off today at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. This will be the first in-person I/O event since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Unlike previous physical I/O events that lasted for days, I/O 2023 will only take place on the 10th of May.


Apart from the expected smartphone launches like Google’s Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold, the company is also expected to make a slew of AI-related announcements.

Google I/O 2023 event can be watched on the company’s official Youtube channel using the link given below. The live stream will also be available on Google’s other social media pages.

Google I/O 2023: Expected launches

1) Android 14:

Google is expected to launch the latest iteration of its Android operating system today. The company has already rolled out the developer preview of Android 14, while the official rollout may begin by October later this year.

2) Google Pixel Fold:

Google highly anticipated foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold is expected to debut at the I/O 2023 event. While, the specification for Pixel Fold have not been released yet the smartphone is expected to come with a 7.6-inch primary screen and a 5.8-inch cover screen.

3) Pixel 7a: 

The Pixel 7a could be powered by the latest Google Tensor G2 processor. The smartphone is expected to come with a 64MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. It could also come with a 90Hz refresh rate and support for wireless charging. 

The latest iteration to the Pixel lineup is expected to cost around $499 or around ₹40,000.

4) AI launches: 

Google is expected to make a series of launches in order to build a dominant position in the artificial intelligence space. The search giant is facing stiff competition from Microsoft-backed OpenAI in the artificial intelligence space. According to CNBC, Google may launch its latest and most advanced large language model Palm2 at the I/O 2023 event. A number of other AI-related improvements to existing Google products are also expected to be announced today.
