Gong Myung and Kim Min-ha have been selected to play the lead roles in the upcoming series A Week Before I Die.
South Korean stars Gong Myung and Kim Min-ha have been roped in for a new fantasy romance drama titled A Week Before I Die. According to a report by Soompi, the upcoming series is based on a novel of the same name written by Seo Eun Chae. It will be telecasted on the South Korean online streaming service TVING. The news of Gong Myung and Kim Min-ha playing the lead cast in A Week Before I Die was confirmed by TVING on November 8, who shared the announcement on the internet. Reports further claim that the much-anticipated series is expected to premiere on the platform in 2025.
A Week Before I Die revolves around 24-year-old Hee Wan — played by Kim Min-ha who is incredibly socially awkward and isolated, lacking the motivation to live. However, things change when she encounters her first love and childhood friend Ram Woo — played by Gong Myung. But he appears before her as grim reaper. In mythological stories, a grim reaper is a supernatural entity who comes down to Earth to collect the souls of dead people. As the story progresses, Hee Wan dies within one week. But ahead of her death, Hee Wan and Ram Woo reunite for a brief period where they discover a secret from high school and begin to explore the values of life and love.
Six years after his passing, Gong Myung plays the grim reaper Kim Ram Woo, who appears in front of Hee Wan. In the final week of Hee Wan’s life before her passing, Ram Woo breaks up her dull everyday routine by having her and Hee Wan complete an amazing bucket list, cited Soompi. Kim Min-ha who will essay the character of Jung Hee Wan will be portrayed as someone who wastes her youth before her death. The story of A Week Before I Die promises to be an entertaining watch with the lives of Kim Ram Woo and Hee Wan being the primary focus.
A Week Before I Die is directed by Choi Ha Na, best known for directing the 2020 drama film More Than Family, which garnered rave reviews from the masses. The most well-known character that Kim Min-ha has played is that of Kim Sun Ja in the global series Pachinko on Apple TV+. Meanwhile, Gong Myung has starred in films like Be Melodramatic, The Bride of Habeak, and The Lovers of the Red Sky.
