Awards season is here and as expected, Barbenheimer is set to take the lead! Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer have come up as frontrunners, securing many nominations in the comedy and drama categories for the 81st Golden Globe Awards. Barbie clinched nominations in the Lead Actress category for star Margot Robbie, and Ryan Gosling’s spirited portrayal of Ken secured him a Best Supporting Actor nomination. On the other hand, Oppenheimer garnered a Best Director nomination for Christopher Nolan, with acting nods for Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., and Emily Blunt. Other films that left an impact on the nominations include Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, and Bradley Cooper’s Maestro.
