Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal recently shared a memorable story about his first interaction with Salman Khan, during which he nearly risked offending the Bollywood superstar with an unexpected compliment about his physique. In an interview with Mashable India, Gippy reflected on their initial meeting, which took place during the shoot of the song ‘Character Dheela’ from Salman’s 2011 film ‘Ready’. At the time, Gippy, who wasn’t very fluent in Hindi, admitted to being nervous about the encounter.
Gippy recalled that when he finally met Salman, he complimented him, saying, “Paji badey dole shole banaye (Paji, you have nice biceps).” Salman, appearing puzzled, responded with a simple “Huh?” sensing the awkwardness, Diljit Dosanjh, who was with Gippy at the time, advised him to be cautious. “Diljit told me don’t say this, he will get angry,” Gippy recounted, remembering the humorous but tense moment.
In an earlier interview with PTI, Diljit Dosanjh also spoke about his admiration for Salman Khan and shared his own experience of meeting the superstar. Diljit reminisced about how excited he was when he learned that Salman was in Punjab shooting for ‘Bodyguard’. “Salman sir was in Punjab shooting for a song in ‘Bodyguard’ while I was shooting for a Punjabi film. When I learned he was in town, I was so excited and wanted to meet him and get a picture with him. I asked quite a few people and finally found someone who could help us visit him on the set.”
On the professional front, Salman Khan is gearing up for his next film ‘Sikandar’, directed by AR Murugadoss. The movie will also feature Rashmika Mandanna, Prateik Babbar, and Sathyaraj in key roles, adding to the excitement for fans.
The shooting for this much-anticipated film began in June this year, and according to reports, the first schedule was completed by July 1. Salman Khan’s character in Sikandar is a businessman with a dual life. While he is portrayed as a philanthropist and a man with a heart of gold, his past shows him as a person who lived a more rugged life, as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.
Salman Khan has been fully dedicating himself to Sikandar, which is set to be released on Eid in 2025. This commitment has reportedly led him to step away from several other projects over the past couple of months. Previously, the actor had also shared a photo from the sets of the Sikandar shoot, which quickly went viral. Fans have been buzzing with excitement and showering praise on the actor as they eagerly await the film’s release. On his Instagram, Salman Khan posted a picture of himself smiling at a computer screen. The caption read, “Looking forward to Eid2025 with team Sikandar.”
