Get up to 5 Lakh rupees of free treatment under the scheme, check details: Ayushman Bharat Yojana

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a government healthcare program that provides low-income and vulnerable families with no-cost access to medical care.

The Indian government launched the Ayushman Bharat Yojana program in 2018. By providing low-income and vulnerable families with cashless access to high-quality healthcare services, it is intended to safeguard their finances. Over 50 crore people, including people working in the informal sector, farmers, and families living below the poverty line, are expected to benefit from the program.

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana’s Benefits:

The fact that Ayushman Bharat Yojana offers coverage for amounts up to Rs. 5 lakh for every family each year for ongoing and short term treatment. This includes costs for both before and after a hospital stay, as well as medical procedures like surgeries, diagnostic tests, and so on. The plan also covers a wide range of treatments for chronic conditions like diabetes, cancer, and heart disease as well as medical, surgical, and maternity care.

How to apply for the program:

Individuals need to go to the Ayushman Bharat Yojana’s official website and fill out an online application form in order to apply. They can also apply in person at a Common Service Center (CSC) or a designated Ayushman Mitra. To be qualified for the plan, people should have a place with a family with a yearly pay of not as much as Rs. 10 lakh, and no other health insurance plan can cover them.

The applicant will receive an electronic card and a confirmation SMS after submitting the application, both of which are required to access the scheme’s benefits. People can use their benefits by going to any hospital that is part of the network, showing their e-card, and getting treated for free. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana will then be billed for the costs of the treatment by the hospital.

Example:

Consider the situation of Mr. Gupta, a farmer from a small Indian village. Mr. Gupta was struggling to pay for the treatment because he had been experiencing severe back pain for a number of months. He was fortunate to learn about the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and made the decision to apply for the program. Mr. Gupta received his electronic card within a few days of submitting the required documents and filling out the online application.

Mr. Gupta went to a nearby affiliated hospital with his e-card, went through a series of tests, and was told he had a spinal injury. Mr. Gupta received treatment at the hospital with the assistance of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and he was able to fully recover from his injury without having to fork over any money on his own. Mr. Gupta was able to get high-quality healthcare services that he couldn’t have afforded without the scheme.
