Frontline worker communications and operations platform Know eyes expansion in US

Chennai: Communications and operations platform for the frontline and service workforce Know said it is looking to expand to the US by the end of this year.

“We already have users in about 10 countries today, not just India. But as a Software as a Service (SaaS) company, you can’t ignore large B2B software markets like the US, Europe, etc. So we are targeting those markets going forward. We’ll continue our expansion in South Asia, and also expand to the US by the end of this year, Krish Sridhar, founder and CEO told ET.

Sridhar said the company, which is used by the likes of Swiggy in India and has over a million users worldwide, has seen “astronomical” growth in its user base since the pandemic. He said the sectors that have driven this growth were slightly different through this period. Some sectors like food, beverage, and retail, faced rough times but other sectors like delivery performed exceedingly well.

“Since the start of Covid, Know’s active user base has grown by 14x,” he said. “In terms of revenue, it has grown 5x even during the Covid period. Our focus will be mid-market and enterprise customers. We’re not doing mom-and-pop stores or kiranas. Our sweet spot is somebody with a few 100 employees all the way to several 1,000s of employees. We serve the mid-market and enterprise segment.”

Know is aiming to transform the lives of over two billion people in the world, in non-desk-based jobs (in logistics, F&B, retail and so on), who they believe have been left behind by the digital revolution. The company helps track all major frontline communications and operations needs like time and attendance tracking, bite-sized training and upskilling, task management, checklists, audits, field data collection and more.

“The idea is that Know would be an intelligent assistant to frontline workers. It will tell them what tasks they need to perform, what training they need to complete and it’ll be like their sidekick. We want to power that, both for the worker and for the business. That’s the vision – that we become the sidekick which this workforce refers to for pretty much everything,” Sridhar added.
