“My mandate was to digitise the business, and then look at digital IT Solutions,” Arjun Ramraju, CEO, Conneqt Business Solutions, told ET.
He joined the company from Wipro and has made changes which will allow the company to tap into the increasing demand for digital transformation projects from Indian enterprises.
“We felt that was an opportunity for us. As Indian enterprises get more global, they are going to get more digital and there is a lot of need for technology which we will try and capitalise on,” he said.
Over the past year, Conneqt Business Solutions has evolved from being a data support business to a digital solutions firm. “One key reason for this was to go deeper in the Indian IT space, where most large IT services companies cater to customers outside India,” said Ramraju.
In order to drive the next phase of growth, Conneqt Business Solutions is putting together a core technology which has 200 members, and is expected to grow to 2,000 employees over the next 12-18 months. This includes building up the digital engineering team which comprises content management integration, low code, no code, a team on data analytics and data science as well as automation and robotic process automation.

“We have a strong team on platforms because when you look at the way technology is going, people are looking at legacy modernisation and a lot of it is going to be existing tech platforms and making that work for them,” said Ramraju.
He said the company would also explore investing in startups in order to gain skills or competencies, and this could be a mix of partial investments or acquisitions. The company works with enterprises across sectors like banking and financial Solutions, retail and automobiles, where there is a lot of demand for customer life cycle management solutions.
“We set up new digital competency centres in areas like digital engineering, automation and others, and started working more with startups,” said Ramraju.
The company is also focusing on partnerships as a means to grow, and currently has partnerships with 17 companies such as UiPath and Salesforce.
