While there’s no direct replacement for the Abarth Punto, some turbo-petrol cars in the market are equally fun to drive.
Having owned an Abarth Punto for eight years, I now feel the need to upgrade to something newer with all the modern bells and whistles. I’m looking for a replacement that’s as enjoyable and satisfying to drive as my Abarth. What are my options in the Rs 15 lakh-20 lakh range?

Autocar India says: For around Rs 15 lakh (on-road), you can get the Hyundai i20 N Line DCT or the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport MT, both of which are sportier than their standard versions, although aren’t as thrilling to drive as the Abarth Punto.
We’d recommend getting the top-spec Skoda Kushaq 1.5 MT or the Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 DSG, both of which are compact yet practical, quite solidly built, and more importantly, their 1.5 turbo-petrol engine impresses with strong performance. Both, the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun are equally fun to drive and are good replacement options for your beloved hatchback.
